Service Description

About Frankie.... Frankie is a ceramic artist based in East Anglia – with a gallery in Suffolk and a studio in Essex. She enjoys working in a spontaneous fashion inspired by the colours and textures of the surrounding landscape. Coming from a creative background, Frankie moved to Suffolk having studied in London at Camberwell and Chelsea Art schools. Her BA (Hons) degree is from the University of the Arts, London and she is extremely experienced at both hand built and thrown ceramics, as well as teaching pottery to both adults and children alike. She has more recently opened a lifestyle and events space in Hadleigh and is undertaking an MA in ceramics at RCA. The Class... This 3 hour class is aimed at potters with some experience in throwing - if you can centre and throw medium sized plus pots this is a great class for you! Frankie will guide you in throwing vessels in 2 parts, joining them together on the wheel and adding extras such as handles and spots to make a much larger and shapely piece than could be accomplished in one throw. You will have the option for your pot to be fired and glazed or if you have a home studio take away after drying to leather hard and completing at home (drop in students/members can complete in later sessions) You can also come to a Pottery Painting session and add your own design to your piece(s). * Due to the nature of ceramics not all pots make it out of the firing process in one piece - we will do our best to take care of your creations but cannot be responsible if pots are damaged or destroyed in the firing process and unfortunately we cannot offer refunds if this occurs. ** If booking for more than one participant please check there is space prior to booking, This can be checked with the participant number drop down - if this is not showing there is only one space remaining in the class.
